20 Weeks

We had our 20 week appointment on Friday.  Everything looks good.  Baby's heart rate was 140 again.  I am guessing boy!  We will be scheduling our BIG ultrasound this week.  I am still convinced that I want to wait to find out, Jeremy is only going along with my wishes.  He really wants to know!  He is thinking that it is a boy too.  I remember thinking Annie was a boy, and was convinced throughout the entire pregnancy that she'd be a boy, so my instincts are not great at predicting.  We will see in 20 weeks!

Movements felt by Daddy

Jeremy felt the baby move for the first time.  He/She was quite active this particular night so Daddy got to experience some of what I have been feeling more and more lately.

14 weeks

2ND Trimester

So far I have felt pretty good.  More tired than normal and some food aversions (especially to coffee) but overall good.  So far this pregnancy has been very much like the other three.  Again I will be battling gestational thrombocytopenia, which has proven to be no big deal with my other pregnancies, just a lot more lab work and no chance of an epidural for delivery.  So far, my glucose levels have been good.  I will continue monitoring my sugar at home and controlling it with dietary changes.  I have gotten big quickly.  I already look like quite pregnant and have been wearing maternity clothes (thanks to family and friends who've loaned me theirs since I had gotten rid of all of mine).
At fifteen weeks we could hear the baby's heartbeat on the doppler for the first time.  It was 140 bpm.  Based on the heart rates of the other kids, I would guess that this is probably a boy.  We are not planning on finding out the gender of this baby, so we won't know for sure until April.

First Ultrasound

We had our first ultrasound today.  I was experiencing some heavy bleeding, so I was advised to go in and have it checked out.  

The baby was perfectly fine, the heartbeat was 154 bpm and was measuring at exactly the right size for gestational age.

The bleeding was caused by a blood clot in my uterus that eventually would resolve on its own.  

Another Baby?!?!?!

While visiting the Finney family in Virginia, I had a suspicion something was not right when I was late for my period by a week.  Sami had a pregnancy test on hand (not sure why) so she gave it to me.  I waited a night before taking it and the next morning it revealed what I had suspected, we were pregnant!  I was shocked since we had decided that we were done having babies after Owen was born. Another plan was in motion.  God is always humbling me, making sure that I know I am not in control.
